FAO: Headquartered in Rome, Italy, FAO is present in over
130 countries, including Mongolia since 1973. Mongolia has been receiving
assistance from FAO in various areas including but not limited to the natural resources
management, technology transfer, food and agriculture policy, livestock
production systems management, food security and safety. Under this overarching
mandate of FAO and within the framework of ‘Engaging and Managing Volunteers
for ASEM 11 in Mongolia’, FAO Mongolia supports the ASEM11 volunteer management
by deploying 1 (one) National UN Volunteer in the area of volunteerism
communications coordination.
UNDP: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the
UN’s global development network, working in nearly 170 countries and
territories. UNDP opened its representative office in Ulaanbaatar in 1973 after
more than a decade of successful cooperation with Mongolia. Ever since, UNDP
has worked for equitable and sustainable development for the benefit of all Mongolians.
UNDP is committed to helping the Government and the people of Mongolia achieve
the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as other national development
priorities, including the Sustainable Development Vision. Under this
overarching mandate of UNDP and within the framework of ‘Engaging and Managing
Volunteers for ASEM 11 in Mongolia’, UNDP Mongolia supports the ASEM11
volunteer management by deploying 1 (one) National UN Volunteer in the area of
volunteer management documentation and reporting.
UNICEF: Together with partners, UNICEF promotes the rights
and wellbeing of every child in 190 countries and territories, with a special
focus on reaching the most disadvantaged children. UNICEF has worked in
Mongolia for over 50 years. In all of its work, UNICEF takes a life-cycle based
approach, recognizing the particular importance of early childhood development
and adolescence. UNICEF is committed to adolescents’ participation as partners
in development. UNICEF invests in increasing opportunities for adolescent girls
and boys to acquire critical assets as they grow - the abilities, skills,
values and experiences, while promoting an environment that helps them to do so
safely and responsibly. Under this overarching mandate of UNICEF and within the
framework of ‘Engaging and Managing Volunteers for ASEM 11 in Mongolia’, UNICEF
Mongolia supports the ASEM11 volunteer management by deploying 1 (one) National
UN Volunteer in the area of volunteer training and management.
